What do you need from me to get started?
Just a basic understanding of your business, what you want your website to achieve, and anything you already know you would like included. We will guide you through the rest, including what pages and sections your website needs. During the first call, we will discuss the project, agree the scope and provide a fixed price before any work begins.
How much of the content do I have to supply?
You do not need to write the website yourself. We will create the page content based on what you tell us about your business, then work with you to refine anything that needs changing before launch.
The main thing we will need from you is your own photography, such as photos of your team, premises, products or work. If you do not have suitable images, we can advise you on the best alternatives.
How many changes do I get?
You can request unlimited changes throughout the build, right up until launch. As the website takes shape, you will be able to see the latest version through a private development link and give us feedback along the way. If something is not quite right or you change your mind about a section, we will make the necessary changes until you are completely happy with the final website.
Once you have approved the website and it goes live, the build is considered complete.
When do I pay?
We start by building the homepage so you can see the direction of the website before committing to the project. Once you have reviewed the draft and confirmed you are happy with the direction, we take the agreed deposit and continue with the full build.
The remaining balance is due once the website is complete and approved, immediately before it goes live.
Can you redesign my existing website instead of rebuilding it?
Yes. If your existing website is technically suitable, we can work with what you already have and redesign it rather than building a completely new site. We will assess the existing website and recommend the best approach based on what you want to improve.
If a rebuild would deliver a significantly better result, we will explain why before any work begins.
Can I keep my current domain and email addresses?
Yes. You can keep your existing domain and business email addresses when we build your new website. Your website address stays the same, and your existing email accounts continue to work as normal.
We will handle the website changeover so there is no need to change the details your customers already use to find or contact you.
What do the domain and hosting cost?
Your domain usually costs around £10 per year and is paid directly to the domain registrar, so you retain ownership of it.
For standard websites without an online shop, hosting is generally free. If your website requires paid hosting or additional services, we will explain the cost upfront before proceeding.
Will my website work well on phones?
Yes. Every website we build is designed to work beautifully across phones, tablets and desktops. We start with the mobile experience, where many customers will first discover your business, and make sure the site is fast, easy to navigate and looks great on every screen size.
Can you help customers find my business on Google?
Yes. Every website we build includes the essential SEO foundations that help Google understand your business, your services and where you operate. We can also set up or optimise your Google Business Profile so customers can find you through Google Search and Maps.
If you already have a website, rebuilding it gives us the opportunity to improve its structure, speed and SEO while preserving the things that are already working. We also build sites with AI discovery in mind, making it easier for tools such as ChatGPT to understand your business and surface your website when relevant.
Can I update the website myself after it goes live?
Yes. Your website can be managed through its content management system, allowing you to update things like text, images and other content yourself.
If you would rather leave the updates to us, we also offer ongoing care plans for businesses that want their website maintained and updated for them.
